Our British Staunton was inspired by the old British Chess Company design from many years ago.This chess set features a 4 tall king with a base diameter of 1.625, an ideal size for tournament play or casual chess games at home. Pieces have thick green baize pads for a soft feel on the chess board and are nicely weighted for stability. The pieces are individually hand polished and lacquered to a beautiful shine. We include a certificate of authenticity so you will always know what the chess set is, where it came from, and when it was made.

Our Classic Mahogany and Maple chess board is an excellent choice for matching with rosewood and boxwood chess pieces. The rosewood pieces have a rich burgundy-brown color that looks terrific standing on the warm orange-brown color of the mahogany.This is an inlaid chess board with the finest wood veneers and is handcrafted to exacting standards. The board is sealed in a satin polyurethane finish to protect the wood.An extra wide frame adds substantial size to the chess board and provides enough room for sitting captured pieces while a black inlay border creates a sharp delineation surrounding the playing area. The squares are 2.25" and the board measures 21" overall. This old-world, heirloom quality chess set is a favorite with players and collectors alike with its traditional Staunton design.
