The perked ears, eyes, mouth, and mane create a fierce looking countenance that gives this set its name.The ebony is jet black with no visible grain just like real ebony while the cream colored natural boxwood is the perfect wood for the white chess pieces.The pieces are hand polished to a beautiful luster. The king is 3.5" tall and has a base diameter of 1.5". The pieces are triple weighted for exceptional stability on the chess board and have thick green baize pads for easily sliding from square to square and a soft feel when placing. Our Deluxe Chess Case has two drawers with individual compartments for storing all 32 chess pieces separately. The compartments are lined on the sides and bottom with a soft beige velour material to protect the pieces from getting scuffed up. The case measures 19" square and is 3" tall. The chess board squares are 2" and are enclosed by an attractive black border. The sides of the case have an elegant molded profile and the board on top is enclosed by a frame.
